Ruth Naomi Sauberan was born on April 28, 1918, in Tonawanda, New York, her father, Clayton, was 34, and her mother, Bertha, was 34. She was one of eight children: Clayon Jr., Lloyd, Julia, Donald, Jerome, Ruth, Helen, Norma.

John and Ruth married on April 25, 1935 had three children: John, Carol & Janet. John died on January 30, 1992, at the age of 77. Ruth passed away on April 8, 2010, at the age of 91.
